SOURCING

Finca Bambito has its greenhouse and cupping room. They use the greenhouse to preserve coffee trees genetic and maintain a young plantation. The coffee pulp/mucilage liquid is used as an organic fertiliser source. In the cupping room, they prepare coffee for quality control and are happy to receive guests to share the experience of tasting the different varieties in Bambito Estate. The Sitton family are committed to providing a healthy and social work environment, incorporating the community in their Social Responsibility Program, providing breakfast to the nearby elementary school students during the school year. Bambito also organises a Christmas gathering during the holidays where we provide food and gifts to the whole community. Coffees from Bambito estate are a new addition to our offerings this year. We have been familiar with this estate for a few years and have heard great things. This was further supported when we tasted the incredible quality from the samples of the 2021 harvest.

ORIGIN

Volcan, Panama

Bambito Estate Coffee has been family owned since the early 1900s. Alberto Sittón Rios acquired the farm from his father in 1945. This farm was Alberto’s passion as it was his way to continue a family tradition. Nowadays, Bambito continues to be a family business, now in its fourth and fifth generations.

The coffee plantation is at an altitude between 1,660 and 1,800 meters, located between two national forest parks and crossed by two mountain ridges from east to west, creating two natural microclimates. These ridges protect their coffee trees from the summer north winds. They also have two water springs, which are the primary source of water for the mill.
